slope formula worksheet

Let us learn about slope formula worksheet

The slope of the line is denoted by ‘m’ & slope is defined as difference between the’ y’ coordinates values divided by the difference between the’ x ‘coordinate values ,among the 2 points on line. slope is described by the equation.
Slope calculator = (change of y)/ (change of x).
Given 2 points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) & modify in x from 1 to the other is x2-x1, while the change in y is y2-y1. Substituting both quantities into the above equation & we get the following:
Slope calculator, m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1).
The slope of the line is independent of the selection of the points & the slope will be the same in each case.
Find the slope of the line that contain points (x1,y1)=(7,2) and (x2,y2)=(6,3).
Solution:
formula of slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
= (3-2) / (6-7)
= 1/ (-1)
Slope =-1
Hence: A 45° declining line has a slope of “-1”.
